DTF Transfers & Gang Sheets in Fresno: DTF vs. Screen Printing
DTF (direct-to-film) transfers have become one of the most popular ways to decorate custom apparel, and Regime Republic prints them in-house in Fresno, CA. Here's how DTF works, how it compares to screen printing, and how to order transfers or gang sheets from us.
What is DTF printing?
DTF prints your design onto a special film with a white underbase and adhesive powder. The finished transfer is heat-pressed onto the garment. The result is a full-color print that stays soft and stretches with the fabric.
- Full color: gradients, photos and fine detail, with no per-color charges
- Works on almost any fabric: cotton, polyester, blends, light and dark garments
- No minimums: one shirt or one hundred
- Fast: transfers are ready in 1–2 business days after payment
DTF vs. screen printing
| DTF | Screen printing | |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum order | None | Usually 12–24+ |
| Colors | Unlimited, full color | Priced per color |
| Setup / screens | None | Screen fee per color |
| Best for | Small to mid runs, detailed or colorful art | Very large runs of 1–3 color designs |
For most small businesses, teams and events, DTF is faster and cheaper because there's no setup.
DTF transfers and gang sheets
If you press your own shirts, you can order ready-to-press DTF transfers from us. A gang sheet lets you fit lots of designs and sizes onto one sheet, so you only pay for the space you use.
- $7 per square foot, full color, ready to press, no minimum
- Print-ready artwork required (PNG with a transparent background works best)
- Logo edits are $10 if your file needs cleanup
- Build and order online with our DTF Gang Sheet Builder
Print shops and resellers: wholesale DTF pricing is available. Contact us to set up a trade account.
Tips for the best DTF prints
- Use a high-resolution file sized at the final print size.
- Avoid semi-transparent pixels (soft glows, faded edges). DTF lays white ink under any partial transparency, which can leave a hazy outline. Use solid colors or halftone dots for fades.
- Our printer runs 12.5" wide, so oversized designs are split into pieces on the sheet.
